05:43 PM EDT, 05/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Ford Motor ( F ) called on its electric-vehicle suppliers to trim costs as it seeks to reciprocate the discounts and price cuts offered by its rivals including Tesla, Reuters reported Thursday.

"Everything is on the table. Consider this a call to action," said Liz Door, Ford's chief supply chain officer, in a company memo to suppliers seen by Reuters.

In a statement to Reuters, Ford said, "We value our suppliers' collaboration and asked them to share their ideas for cost reductions."

Ford did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
