06:33 AM EDT, 07/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Ford (F) has reached a deal with German union IG Metall to guarantee employment for all workers at its Cologne facility through 2032, Reuters reported Friday, quoting works council head Benjamin Gruschka.
The agreement allows the company to pursue its restructuring plans primarily through voluntary redundancies, the plant's works council announced Friday, the report added.
According to Gruschka, any job reductions will largely result from voluntary departures, supported by severance packages that exceed typical automotive industry standards in both generosity and scope, it added.
