10:12 AM EDT, 09/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- HSBC Holdings ( HSBC ) is considering appointing its first female chief financial officer, with current chief risk and compliance officer Pam Kaur in pole position for the role, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the situation.
Kaur is favored for the position that was left vacant after Georges Elhedery transitioned to the CEO role on Sept. 2, succeeding Noel Quinn, the people said.
Other potential candidates include head of global banking and markets Greg Guyett, head of strategy and corporate development Willard McLane, and Kavita Mahtani, CFO of Europe and Western Markets, the report said.
No final decision has been made, and other candidates may still enter the race, Bloomberg said citing the people.
HSBC ( HSBC ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
