08:05 AM EDT, 10/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- IBM ( IBM ) said it has run a key quantum computing algorithm on readily-available chips made by Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), taking the company a step closer to commercializing super-computers, Reuters reported Friday.
The company said the algorithm is designed to correct errors in quantum computing and can operate in real time on AMD's field-programmable gate array chips, according to a research paper to be published Monday.
IBM ( IBM ) aims to build a large-scale quantum computer, known as Starling, by 2029, the report said.
