08:32 AM EDT, 03/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Google ( GOOG ) was found to have engaged in anti-competitive conduct in India related to its app store billing system, Bloomberg News reported Friday, citing an Indian court ruling.

The court sided with the Competition Commission of India's 2022 ruling that Google's ( GOOG ) billing policy unfairly restricted the use of third-party payment services by app developers.

While the judgment upheld the antitrust finding, it reduced the fine from 9.4 billion rupees ($109.9 million) to 2.2 billion rupees, Bloomberg added.

The full court order is still pending, according to the report.

Google ( GOOG ) and the Competition Commission did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
