05:00 AM EST, 11/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Intel ( INTC ) Chief Executive Lip-Bu Tan will oversee the chipmaker's artificial intelligence projects after the chipmaker's chief technology officer departed for Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI, Reuters reported Monday, citing an Intel ( INTC ) statement.

Sachin Katti said in a social media post Monday he was joining OpenAI after four years at Intel ( INTC ).

"Lip-Bu will lead the AI and Advanced Technologies Groups, working closely with the team," Reuters cited Intel ( INTC ) as saying.

OpenAI and Intel ( INTC ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
