10:25 AM EDT, 05/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Intuitive Machines ( LUNR ) plans another moon trip by the end of 2024, aiming to install a 4G network on the lunar surface, in partnership with Nokia's ( NOK ) , Bloomberg reported Friday, citing founder Kam Ghaffarian.
"On our second mission, which will be in the last quarter of the year, we are actually installing a 4G network on the surface of the moon," Ghaffarian said in an interview Thursday.
Ghaffarian is also the co-founder of Axiom Space, a developer of commercial space stations, which is on schedule to launch its first space station module in 2026 after raising $350 million in its most recent funding round.
Ghaffarian sees rapid growth ahead in the space economy, powered by AI, quantum computing, and robotics, Bloomberg said.
