04:05 PM EDT, 03/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- JPMorgan Chase ( JPM ) and Walmart ( WMT ) are collaborating to speed up payments for merchants selling on Walmart's ( WMT ) online platform, Reuters reported Monday, citing Lia Cao, JPMorgan's ( JPM ) head of embedded finance and solutions.
The partnership will allow these merchants to manage cash flow using JPMorgan's ( JPM ) systems, the media outlet reported. Cao reportedly said the bank has 20 embedded payment clients with plans to double the number by next year.
The service is currently available only to US merchants, but discussions are ongoing to expand the service to Europe and other regions, according to Reuters.
JPMorgan ( JPM ) and Walmart ( WMT ) did not immediately respond to requests for a comment from MT Newswires.
JPMorgan ( JPM ) shares were up about 3%, while Walmart ( WMT ) stock was 1.6% higher in recent trading.
