Sep 6, 2024 12:32 PM

01:51 PM EDT, 09/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Democratic presidential nominee and current Vice President Kamala Harris plans to propose a more modest increase in the top capital gains tax rate than that put forward by President Joe Biden, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Harris's advisers believe a less drastic hike would help encourage investment in entrepreneurship and capital access for small businesses, the people reportedly told the Journal.
