Market Chatter: Merck Looks to Increase Staff in India, Executive Says

10:26 AM EST, 02/26/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Merck ( MRK ) expects to have about 2,700 employees in India by yearend, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing Executive Vice President Dave Williams.

"In a couple of years, I fully expect we'll double that number or more," Williams said at the BioAsia conference held in India, according to Reuters.

The company's sites in the country currently employ a total of about 1,800 people, the report said.
