05:47 PM EDT, 10/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) , the parent company of Instagram, is exploring a dedicated TV app for the social media platform as part of its broader push into video, Bloomberg reported Thursday at the Screentime conference, citing chief executive Adam Mosseri.
Mosseri noted that as viewer habits shift toward television, Instagram plans to bring Reels to more screens but will not license live sports or Hollywood content, according to the report.
Earlier this year, Instagram launched a video editing app amid TikTok's US uncertainty, and Mosseri said a TV app has no set launch date as the company explores cross-device experiences, it added.
Meta Platforms ( META ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
