Market Chatter: Morgan Stanley Plans to Boost Asia Bonuses by Up to 50%
Jan 22, 2025 5:11 AM

07:41 AM EST, 01/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Morgan Stanley ( MS ) plans to increase bonuses for top-performing investment bankers and traders in Asia by as much as 50%, following robust business growth and a low-base effect from last year, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing two people with direct knowledge of the matter.

Morgan Stanley ( MS ) informed some of Asia's top bankers that their bonuses would increase by 40% compared with 2024, the report said.

Last year, many senior dealmakers in Asia saw their bonuses cut by more than 20%, with one-third of managing directors receiving no bonus, the report added.

Some senior Morgan Stanley ( MS ) bankers, particularly those who worked on deals in India and Australia, will receive 30% to 40% higher bonus payouts this year, Bloomberg, citing sources, reported earlier this week.

Morgan Stanley ( MS ) did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
