08:23 AM EDT, 06/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon ( AMZN ) has seen Nintendo withdraw its products from the US platform following a dispute over unsanctioned sales, Bloomberg News reported Monday, citing a source familiar with the matter.
Nintendo ceased sales on Amazon ( AMZN ) after observing that third-party merchants on the platform were selling games in the US at lower prices than the Japanese company's advertised rates, the source reportedly said, adding that merchants were purchasing Nintendo products in bulk in Southeast Asia before exporting them to the US.
Amazon ( AMZN ) tried to mitigate the situation by offering to place labels on products to guarantee their authenticity, but the offer was not enough for Nintendo, according to the report.
"There is no such fact," a Nintendo spokesperson told Bloomberg. "We do not disclose details of negotiations or contracts with retailers."
"The claims made by Bloomberg regarding our relationship with Nintendo are inaccurate," an Amazon ( AMZN ) representative reportedly said without providing specifics.
Amazon ( AMZN ) and Nintendo did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
