Market Chatter: Nokia Close to Winning 5G Contract From Portugal's MEO, Reuters Reports

07:47 AM EDT, 05/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Nokia ( NOK ) is set to win a contract to provide Portuguese telecommunications operator MEO with 5G radio equipment, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing sources inside the Finnish telecommunications firm.

MEO purchased its 2G, 3G, and 4G radio equipment from China's Huawei, Reuters said.

Reuters cited an unnamed source as saying the deal has been agreed to but not yet signed.

Nokia ( NOK ) and MEO did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
