05:36 AM EST, 11/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Nvidia ( NVDA ) is not in "active discussions" to sell its Blackwell AI chips to China and has no plans to ship them there, Reuters reported Friday, citing CEO Jensen Huang's remarks in Taiwan.
Blackwell remains restricted under US export rules, though Nvidia's ( NVDA ) lower-spec H20 chip can reportedly be sold in China.
Nvidia's ( NVDA ) share of advanced AI chips in China is currently zero, and Chinese buyers do not want Nvidia ( NVDA ) products under the present conditions, the news outlet quoted Huang as saying.
Speculation that recent Trump-Xi engagements could allow a scaled-down, less powerful version of the Blackwell chip has not resulted in any agreement so far, Reuters reported.
Huang also clarified prior comments on China's AI progress compared to the US, saying the country has "very good AI technology" and many AI researchers, the media outlet reported.
