Market Chatter: NVIDIA to Soon Unveil Investment Plans in Thailand
Oct 22, 2024 12:04 PM

06:04 AM EDT, 10/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- NVIDIA ( NVDA ) will unveil investment plans for Thailand during Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang's trip to Bangkok in December, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday, citing Thailand's Commerce Minister Pichai Naripthaphan.

Naripthaphan did not specify how much investment the company will bring into Thailand, but told Bloomberg in an interview that it could lead to more funding "with related clusters following suit".

The California-based chip designing firm has already pledged investments in building AI infrastructure in Indonesia and Malaysia, and is exploring opportunities in Vietnam as well, the report said.

Nvidia ( NVDA ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment on the matter.

ICC Cricket World Cup Highlights: Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah help India reach semis and eliminate Bangladesh

India sailed into the Cricket World Cup semi-finals and eliminated opponents Bangladesh after Rohit Sharma's century and Jasprit Bumrah's four-wicket haul secured a 28-run victory over their neighbours on Tuesday. Rohit smashed his fourth century of this year's tournament and featured in a massive 180-run opening partnership with KL Rahul to help India to a commanding 314-9. Shakib Al Hasan struck a defiant 66 but the lack of partnerships hurt Bangladesh, who were all out for 286 in 48 overs with Bumrah (4-55) sealing the victory by claiming two wickets with the final two deliveries. India are now second with 13 points, one behind leaders Australia, and play Sri Lanka in their final group match on Saturday. Here are the key highlights of the match.
