02:53 PM EDT, 07/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Regulators in Ohio on Wednesday voted through a settlement proposed by American Electric Power ( AEP ) , with some changes, requiring data centers to pay for at least 85% of the electricity they say they need each month, even if they use less, Bloomberg reported.

Amazon.com ( AMZN ) and other big tech firms had proposed their own terms in Ohio, according to the report.
