Market Chatter: Southwest Airlines to Reduce Atlanta Flights, Expand Service in Nashville, Hawaii

08:59 AM EDT, 09/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Southwest Airlines ( LUV ) is planning to reduce its Atlanta flights to 381 weekly flights from 567, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing the company.

Starting in April, the company will also trim its destinations from the city to 21 from 37, while expanding service in Nashville and adding redeye flights to Hawaii, according to the report.

The airline does not plan layoffs in Atlanta but will offer transfers to impacted workers, Bloomberg said.

Southwest ( LUV ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
