07:22 AM EDT, 03/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT )-backed (MSFT) OpenAI has shelved plans to release an adults-only chatbot "indefinitely," the Financial Times reported Thursday, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter.
The decision follows worries from staff and investors about the social impacts of sexually suggestive AI content, the report said.
Concerns included unhealthy attachments to AI and exposing minors to sexual content. The "adult mode" had been on hold before over similar concerns, the report said.
OpenAI did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
