Market Chatter: Paramount Willing to Pay $15 Million to Settle Trump's CBS Lawsuit
May 29, 2025 4:17 AM

06:54 AM EDT, 05/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Paramount Global ( PARAA ) has offered $15 million to settle President Donald Trump's lawsuit over a CBS "60 Minutes" segment, but Trump wants over $25 million and an apology, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

Trump's team may reportedly file another lawsuit over alleged bias in CBS coverage. Wednesday marks the deadline to respond to Paramount's motion to dismiss the current suit.

The suit accuses CBS of manipulating an interview with Kamala Harris and seeks $20 billion in damages. CBS denies the claim, calling the broadcast neither doctored nor deceitful, the WSJ reported.

A mediation session is scheduled for Thursday, the news outlet added.

Paramount and the White House did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
