Meta Platforms Releases New AI Models

03:05 PM EDT, 10/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) on Friday released a slew of new artificial intelligence models aimed at achieving advanced machine intelligence.

The company released, among other things, an update to its Segment Anything Model 2 called SAM 2.1; Meta Spirit LM, an open source language model for speech and text integration; and Layer Skip, which is designed to accelerate large language model generation times.

The company also announced the release of Self-Taught Evaluator, a new method for improving AI models with less human involvement.
