Market Chatter: Petrobras CEO Decision Delayed After Brazil's Lula Cancels Meeting
Apr 8, 2024 6:57 AM

09:34 AM EDT, 04/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Petrobras (PBR) CEO Jean Paul Prates' potential replacement as head of the state-controlled oil company was supposed to be decided on Sunday in a meeting among Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and cabinet members, Reuters reported Monday, citing unnamed sources.

Lula, however, decided to cancel the meeting as he was bothered with it being leaked to the press, the report said. Citing an unnamed source, Reuters said Prates may not last "to the end of the week" as Petrobras CEO.

Petrobras did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
