Market Chatter: P&G Selling China-Made Diapers at Target as US Brands Lose Share to Imported Rivals
Aug 25, 2025 5:14 AM

07:51 AM EDT, 08/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Procter & Gamble ( PG ) has begun selling China-made luxury "bumbum" diapers at Target ( TGT ) as Pampers and Luvs lose share in the US diaper market, Reuters reported Monday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

The move is unusual for P&G because most of what it sells in the US is manufactured domestically, according to the report.

Shifting to imports reflects rising costs of US manufacturing and P&G's effort to boost growth in baby care, Reuters said.

Procter & Gamble ( PG ) and Target ( TGT ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
