12:57 PM EDT, 03/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to hold talks with President Donald Trump regarding a proposed ceasefire in Ukraine, Bloomberg reported Thursday.

Any truce should be focused on a long-term resolution of the conflict, Putin reportedly said in a news conference.

"We agree with the proposals to stop hostilities, but we start from the position that this cessation should lead to a long-term peace and eliminate the causes of this crisis," Putin said, according to Bloomberg.
