06:24 AM EDT, 10/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Qualcomm ( QCOM ) is likely to wait for the results of the US elections in November before deciding whether to acquire Intel ( INTC ) due to the future administration's potential impact on regulations, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing unidentified sources familiar with the matter.

The election's results could provide Qualcomm ( QCOM ) with more clarity on future trade relations with China and antitrust policies in the US, and Qualcomm ( QCOM ) may wait until after the inauguration of the new president in January, the report said.

The timing and whether Qualcomm ( QCOM ) will make an offer for Intel ( INTC ) are uncertain as the company's deliberations on the potential transaction continue, the report added.
