Market Chatter: RTX Unit, Wizz Air Working Towards Deal to Accelerate Engine Servicing
Sep 2, 2025 4:18 AM

06:57 AM EDT, 09/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- RTX's (RTX) Pratt & Whitney and Hungary's discount carrier Wizz Air are working towards a deal to accelerate engine servicing, Reuters reported Monday, citing Wizz Air Chief Executive Jozsef Varadi.

Repair and maintenance delays have grounded parts of the airline's fleet, according to the report.

Wizz Air aims to finalize a deal with Pratt & Whitney before its H1 results scheduled for Nov. 13, Reuters quoted Varadi as saying.

"We're going to be seeing a lot of engines going into shops for maintenance work," he said. "What is new, and the improvement, is the earlier recovery of those engines."
