Market Chatter: SEC Probing Coinbase Over Stated User Numbers

01:31 PM EDT, 05/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The US Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating Coinbase Global ( COIN ) over whether it misstated its user numbers in past disclosures, The New York Times Reported Thursday, citing four people familiar with the matter.

Coinbase did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.

Shares were down 6.5% in recent trading.
