Market Chatter: Spirit AeroSystems Investigating Missing Paperwork for Aircraft Parts
Sep 24, 2024 2:58 AM

05:07 AM EDT, 09/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Spirit AeroSystems ( SPR ) is investigating missing and duplicate paperwork related to parts for various aircraft programs after anomalies were found in reports from a machine that measures parts, Reuters reported Monday, citing two industry sources.

The report said the supplier is reviewing records dating back to 2010, although no safety concerns have been identified so far.

Spirit AeroSystems ( SPR ) spokesperson Joe Buccino confirmed to Reuters that the company has informed affected customers and is conducting an internal investigation.

To address the issue, Spirit plans to automate the production and storage of measurement reports within the next 90 days, according to the report.

Spirit AeroSystems ( SPR ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
