05:42 PM EDT, 08/26/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Elon Musk's Starlink and T-Mobile (TMUS) have separately expressed interest in acquiring spectrum licenses from EchoStar ( SATS ) , parent of struggling DISH Network, Semafor reported Tuesday, according to people familiar with the matter.
The spectrum represents one of the largest unused blocks of publicly owned airwaves and has attracted regulatory attention urging its sale, said the report.
T-Mobile had earlier considered buying most of EchoStar's ( SATS ) licenses and continues discussions over the portions not acquired by AT&T ( T ) , whereas Musk's Starlink is targeting a segment analysts estimate at roughly $30 billion, it added.
Starlink, EchoStar ( SATS ), and T-Mobile didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
