10:55 AM EDT, 04/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Apple's ( AAPL ) iPhone handset supplier Pegatron is in the final stages of negotiations with Tata Group and a deal for Tata to take control of Pegatron's operations in India may be reached as soon as May, Bloomberg reported Friday.

The conglomerate's Tata Electronics unit will run Pegatron's handset assembly operations in India upon completion of the deal while Pegatron is expected to provide support, the report said, citing people with knowledge of the matter.

Apple ( AAPL ) and Tata Group did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' requests for comment, while Pegatron could not be reached for comment.
