Market Chatter: Tech Heavyweights Sever Ties With Blacklisted Sandvine
Apr 24, 2024 10:22 AM

01:10 PM EDT, 04/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Dell Technologies ( DELL ) , Microsoft ( MSFT ) , Zoom Video Communications ( ZM ) , Salesforce (CRM) and Intel ( INTC ) have severed ties with Sandvine after the networking equipment firm was blacklisted by the US government, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Sandvine was blacklisted by the US Commerce Department in February for "enabling human rights abuses" through the supply of tools intended for mass web-monitoring and censorship.

Zoom reportedly confirmed to Bloomberg it terminated its relationship with Sandvine. Intel ( INTC ) told Bloomberg it complied with all applicable laws in countries in which it operates, and Dell said it had processes in place to ensure it did not do business with designated entities.

None of the companies immediately responded to requests for comment by MT Newswires.
