08:05 AM EDT, 04/17/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) is planning to launch a six-seat, long-wheelbase version of the Model Y in India as early as next week, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing unnamed sources.

The report said the new variant will be shipped from Tesla's Shanghai gigafactory, which already imports Model Y standard and long-range variants to the Indian market.

Tesla first introduced the Model Y L in China in August and has confirmed plans to launch it in Australia and New Zealand. It has also indicated that additional regions could follow, the report said.

Tesla did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
