07:44 AM EDT, 03/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla's (TSLA) gigafactory in Germany resumed production on Wednesday after a suspected arson attack on a nearby electricity pylon knocked its power out on March 5, local broadcaster rbb reported.
"The machines have been restarted in a controlled and safe manner so that the early shift can resume," Michaela Schmitz, head of the site's works council, told rbb.
Tesla Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk is expected to visit the plant on Wednesday for a staff meeting, the broadcaster said.
Tesla did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
Shares of the carmaker were down 2% in recent Wednesday premarket activity.
