Market Chatter: Tesla's China-Made EV Sales Up 15.3% in July

06:27 AM EDT, 08/02/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla's (TSLA) sales of electric vehicles manufactured in China increased by 15.3% year-over-year, reaching 74,117 units in July, Reuters reported on Friday, citing the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

Deliveries of the China-made Model 3 and Model Y rose by 4.4% compared to June, the report said.

The report added that the company's Chinese competitor BYD recorded a monthly high with a 30.5% year-on-year increase in passenger vehicle sales, totaling 340,799 units in July, driven by its Dynasty and Ocean EV and plug-in hybrid lines.

Petrol prices have not changed for 19 days in a row now. MK Surana threw some light on the issue at hand. “There has been too many up down in the last few days and the average of 15 days rolling prices -- the crude price is one part of it but the product cracks also has gotten impacted by the exchange rate also, so that domestic prices gets guided by the international product prices and not only from crude prices,” he said.
