01:58 PM EST, 11/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- VeriSign ( VRSN ) is facing calls from two Democrat lawmakers for a probe into how the company charges for the .com domain, Wired reported Friday.

In a letter sent to the US Department of Justice and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, Senator Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Representative Jerry Nadler, D-NY, accused the company of overcharging customers and called on the federal agencies to investigate VeriSign's ( VRSN ) alleged predatory pricing.

VeriSign ( VRSN ), the Department of Justice, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, and Elizabeth Warren's office did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.

VeriSign ( VRSN ) shares were down 1% in recent Friday trading.
