12:46 PM EST, 11/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The fees Visa (V) and MasterCard ( MA ) charge retailers in the EU are under probe by the bloc's regulators to see if such fees are hurting businesses, Reuters reported Wednesday.

According to the report, the European Commission sent a questionnaire to retailers and payment service providers in September about Visa and Mastercard ( MA ), asking them to respond until October.

Visa and MasterCard ( MA ) did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
