Marriott International Faces More Striking Workers in San Francisco

02:33 PM EDT, 10/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Marriott International ( MAR ) faces more striking workers with 120 people from the Marriott Union Square in San Francisco walking off the job, the Unite Here union said Friday in a statement.

Around 5,200 workers have been on strike at multiple hotel chains since September across the US, the union said.

Workers are calling for higher wages, fair staffing and workloads and the reversal of COVID-era cuts, the union said.

Negotiations are ongoing, and strike have been authorized strikes in Boston, Honolulu and Seattle, among other cities, the union said.

Marriott ( MAR ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
