07:47 AM EDT, 08/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Masimo ( MASI ) sued the US Customs and Border Protection over an Aug. 1 decision to allow Apple ( AAPL ) to import Apple Watches with blood oxygen monitoring feature that infringes Masimo's ( MASI ) patents related to light-based pulse oximetry technology, according to a court filing on Wednesday.

In its complaint filed in the US District Court District of Columbia, Masimo ( MASI ) said the agency reversed its 2024 decision "without any meaningful justification, without any material change in circumstances, and without any notice to Masimo ( MASI )."

The company said it became aware of the agency's Aug. 1 decision only after an announcement from Apple ( AAPL ) that it was restoring the blood oxygen monitoring feature in the Apple Watch.

Apple ( AAPL ) and the US Customs did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
