Mastercard, Amazon Payment Services to Digitize Payment Acceptance in Middle East, Africa

10:43 AM EDT, 09/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Mastercard ( MA ) said Monday it has entered a multiyear commercial partnership with Amazon.com's ( AMZN ) Amazon Payment Services to enable digital payment acceptance across various countries in the Middle East and Africa, including the United Arab Emirates and South Africa.

Amazon Payment Services will implement Mastercard Gateway as a unified payment processing solution across 40 markets in the region, Mastercard ( MA ) said.

The companies also signed an agreement to develop services like Secure Card on File, Click to Pay, and token authentication services to provide merchants with multi-rail checkout options, Mastercard ( MA ) said.
