11:46 AM EDT, 06/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- McDonald's (MCD) said Thursday it will launch a $5 meal deal starting June 25 at select US restaurants for a limited time.

The deal includes a choice of a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, small fries, four-piece Chicken McNuggets, and a small soft drink for $5, the company said.

In some locations in Alaska, California, Guam, Hawaii, Nevada, Manhattan, and Washington, the McDouble meal option may be priced at $6, the burger giant added.

McDonald's said it has also reintroduced "Free Fries Friday" exclusively through its app, allowing customers to receive a free medium fry with any $1 minimum purchase until the end of 2024.

Shares of the company were up 0.7% in recent Thursday trading.
