05:02 AM EDT, 09/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Mercer International ( MERC ) said late Wednesday its Peace River mill has taken downtime to complete "necessary repairs" that will likely reduce the production of Northern Bleached Hardwood Kraft pulp by about 45,000 tonnes during the period.

The company expects the repairs and business interruption to be covered by its property and business interruption insurance.

Mercer expects the repairs and related assessments to be completed in mid-October.
