Analysts polled by FactSet expected $2.02.
Sales for the quarter ended June 30 were $15.81 billion, compared with $16.11 billion a year earlier.
Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $15.9 billion.
The company said it now expects 2025 adjusted EPS of $8.87 to $8.97, compared with its prior outlook range of $8.82 to $8.97. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect $8.86.
Merck ( MRK ) now projects full-year sales between $64.3 billion and $65.3 billion versus its previous range of $64.1 billion to $65.6 billion. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect $64.95 billion.
