06:12 AM EST, 11/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) will face an investigation by Spanish authorities over alleged violations of users' privacy, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said Wednesday.

Sanchez said research from international centers in Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands found that the Facebook and Instagram parent company allegedly used "silent spying" by using a "hidden mechanism" that tracked Android device users' web activities.

Meta Platforms ( META ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
