05:39 AM EDT, 04/10/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) is removing advertisements on Facebook and Instagram from attorneys attempting to recruit clients in ongoing cases alleging addiction and harm to youth mental health from social media, several media outlets reported Thursday.
"We will not allow trial lawyers to profit from our platforms while simultaneously claiming they are harmful," Meta spokesperson Andy Stone said in a statement, according to Axios.
The move from Meta comes just a few weeks after Meta and Alphabet's Google ( GOOG ) were found liable in a case involving social media addiction, reports added.
Meta did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
