11:12 AM EDT, 05/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT ) has signed two 15-year power purchase agreements with RWE to buy clean electricity from two onshore wind farms in Texas, RWE said Thursday.

Financial details of the agreements weren't disclosed.

The construction of the 203-megawatt Lane City wind farm will begin this summer and the 243-megawatt Peyton Creek II wind farm is underway, expanding RWE's renewables footprint to 4.8 gigawatts in Texas, the company said.

The projects are expected to generate 250 to 300 jobs each during construction and 20 full-time jobs once operational, the company said.
