10:23 AM EDT, 09/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT ) is collaborating with the platform StopNCII to address the problem of non-consensual intimate imagery on its Bing search platform, the company said in a blog post Thursday.
StopNCII, run by the charity SWGfL, helps adults prevent non-consensual sharing of their intimate images by allowing them to create a "hash," or digital fingerprint of their content, including the ones created by generative AI, without the images leaving their device, Microsoft ( MSFT ) said. These hashes can then be used by industry partners to identify and act on the images on their platforms in accordance with their policies.
Microsoft ( MSFT ) said it has been testing the StopNCII database to block this content from appearing in Bing's image search results.
Financial details weren't disclosed.
