Microsoft Warns of Chinese Hacking Group Targeting Cloud Supply Chains

11:14 AM EST, 03/05/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft's ( MSFT ) threat intelligence division said Wednesday that a Chinese hacking group called Silk Typhoon was targeting remote management tools and cloud applications as part of a supply-chain attacks campaign.

The hacking group exploits stolen application programming interface keys and credentials from cloud service providers to access and steal data from downstream customers, primarily in government and IT sectors, according to the company.

The attackers target sensitive information related to US policy, law enforcement, and China-related interests, Microsoft ( MSFT ) added.

Shares of Microsoft ( MSFT ) were up 1% in recent trading.
