03:21 PM EST, 01/31/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT )-backed (MSFT) OpenAI released its new AI reasoning model called o3-mini with ChatGPT Pro customers offered unlimited usage.

"The newest, most cost-efficient model in our reasoning series" will be rolled out to ChatGPT Enterprise within a week, OpenAI said Friday in a statement.

DeepSeek, a Chinese startup, rattled the US technology sector this week amid speculation on its reported lower costs and higher performance versus AI rivals.
