Morgan Stanley Investment, Scion Group to Buy Mississippi Student Housing for $262 Million

09:44 AM EDT, 06/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Morgan Stanley's ( MS ) asset management unit and The Scion Group have entered into a joint venture to buy student housing near the University of Mississippi for $262 million, the companies said Tuesday.

The portfolio includes over 2,000 beds across 600 apartments, townhomes and cottages, according to the joint statement.

One property, College Town Oxford, has already been acquired, while the acquisition of the rest of the portfolio is expected to close in Q3, the companies said.
