NEW YORK, Oct 30 (Reuters) - Citigroup ( C/PN ) has hired Anne
McCosker from Goldman Sachs ( GS ) as head of lending for its wealth
division, an internal memo seen by Reuters showed.
McCosker was recently Goldman's Global Head of Private Bank
Lending. In the memo, Citi's wealth head Andy Sieg wrote that
McCosker while at Goldman had led a "significant and effective
strategic shift in lending to ultra-high net worth individuals,
institutions and families". McCosker has also worked at Barclays
Wealth and ANZ Bank in Australia.
Sieg, hired a little more than a year ago from Merrill Lynch
to lead CEO Jane Fraser's efforts to expand its wealth
management division, has focused on bringing in more assets from
Citi clients invested elsewhere. The results began to appear in
the third quarter earnings.
The wealth management division posted revenue growth of 9%
in the third quarter to $2 billion. "Our clients have $5
trillion in assets invested, mostly elsewhere, and we're
starting to increase our share in it," Sieg said in an interview
with Reuters during the earnings release.
